Control Design of Dynamic Virtual Power Plants: An Adaptive Divide-and-Conquer Approach

In this paper, we present a novel control approach for dynamic virtual power plants (DVPPs). particular, consider group of heterogeneous distributed energy resources (DERs) which collectively provide desired ancillary services such as fast frequency and voltage control. Our relies on an adaptive divide-and-conquer strategy: first, disaggregate the specifications aggregate DVPP via participation matrices (ADPMs) to obtain local behavior each device. Second, design linear parameter-varying (LPV) $\mathcal {H}_\infty$ controllers optimally match behaviors. process, also incorporates physical engineered limits Furthermore, our can properly respond fluctuating device capacities, thus include weather-driven DERs into setup. Finally, demonstrate effectiveness strategy in case study based IEEE nine-bus system.
